Little Prairy

When I see beauty I think of you
Wild turkey tail feather
Sprig of asteraceae
Knaarled oak at crosspaths
Scent of resin
Your grey eyes
Meres of dancing stars
Needs of memory
Swollen with larksongs

Ben Bedford is a musician (guitarist/songwriter/composer) and visual artist (ink) from central Illinois. His vision revolves around discovering beauty and intrigue. He has an undimmed childlike curiosity and desire for exploration and experimentation. His work, both musical and visual, often integrates themes from the natural world and sometimes depicts the interconnectedness of nature, emphasizing humanity’s place alongside trees, birds, woodland creatures, and wildflowers. He continues to draw, write music, and tour and is currently working on an illustrated storybook based on his 2023 album, Valley of Stars. He believes he becomes more and more himself each day. He’s trying to delight in the mystery.
